We offer classes for Children, teen and adults and regularly attend sanctioned tournaments.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ as it is often referred to teaches that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique—most notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training can be used for sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition or self defense. Sparring (commonly referred to as ‘rolling’) and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition, in relation to progress and ascension through the grades/belts.

This is a great class for gaining confidence, better fitness, co-ordination, speed and agility and has been one of Pride Gym’s best selling class for every age group!

All of Pride Gym’s Classes put a strong emphasis on Fun, Fitness and Practicality.

If it doesn’t work in the Gym, it’s not going to work when you need it too!

Things to Keep in Mind

  • A positive attitude is a must.
  • Proper gym attire is key, shorts, yoga pants, or Gi (kimono) etc.
  • If your goal is to learn to beat people up, this is not the place for you!
  • Respect is a must. No form of harassment will be tolerated.
  • Consult a physician before doing strenuous activities.
