KCLC Students Work Out With Pride

Students from the Kootnay Columbia Learning Centre received a gift from the private sector that busted them out of school and into the gym,Thanks to a Telus grant. Students from the take a hike program at KCLC will receive expert instruction and opportunity to train at Pride Gym for the next several weeks.

“We wanted the kids to get into a gym that’s outside of the school because it gives them the opportunity to walk into an environment that can be intimating, so this gives them the confident” said SD 20 school board trustee Gordon Smith.

With Chris Gibsons background in MMA, Smith who also trains at Pride Gym and MMA fighter River Jones who is also a Quest youth worker along with Pride Gym owner Glen Kalesniko it will be a positive experience.
